Binge Menu
I am really excited to be able to eat solid foods again. I understand that I won’t be able to go shred through a steak the day my doctor gives me the go-ahead, but I’m willing to slowly work my way back towards a strong jaw.
This is a list of the places I’m going to go and the meals I’m going to eat once I’m able. I will append to it as new cravings cross my mind.
Note: I don’t enjoy eating alone, so I’ll be recruiting friends to join me for these fine eats. I may also chat quite a bit when we hit these venues because, well, that will be just as exciting for me as eating.
Note 2: If you have any suggestions for tasty things I should spend all my hard-earned money on, post them in the comments on this page and I’ll check them out!

Awesome! I better purchase one! I’ve become so accustomed to my grill that I’ve stopped thinking about other cooking mediums.

@Tammy – If you can ever make a trip to Lausanne, Switzerland, the have a Wendys there. I’m not kidding! I ate there!
@Annalou Kraft Dinner is what the Canadians call Kraft’s Macaroni and Cheese, a bit like the whole “Grade 5” and “PRO-gress” and PASS-ta. 😀
@Graham Pulled Pork Recipe that you could probably make:
http://southernfood.about.com/od/pulledporkrecipes/r/cpweekly33.htm
My wife doesn’t do the thinly sliced Onions…she just takes an onion soup mix and rubs the roast with it.
She cuts the roast into pieces about 5-7 cm long, then takes two forks and pulls at the grain of the muscle so it shreds into the individual fibers.
Once it’s all shredded, she serves it up liberally sauced with barbecue sauce over nice hearty bread or rolls.
All you’d need is a Crockpot/slow cooker. Prep it the night before, start it cooking in the morning before you head off to work, and shred it up and eat when you get home from work.
Mmmm… Slow Cookers make life so nice.

Pulled pork ambassador….oh my mum would be so proud!!
June 6, 2010 at 3:39 pm
Yeah, skipping the liver and onions smoothie is a smart life choice. 🙂
You’re not missing much with Kraft Dinner, it’s just really, really cheap mac’n’cheese.
Pulled pork is amazing though! I don’t know how to make it, so I always go to local pubs to try it. You could be the pulled pork ambassador for the UK!

I’m from the UK….pulled pork sandwich is a mystery too!! I will have to try all these before my op…will be giving he liver and onion smoothie a miss though!!

Where are you from? Perhaps Kraft Dinner is just a North American thing.
June 6, 2010 at 4:42 am
What’s a Kraft Dinner? We have Kraft cheese but I’m quite sure I’ve never heard of a Kraft Dinner..humm, maybe this is something I need to research!
Just read all 74 days, fab reading, ta!

Wendy’s?! Ewwww! I used to love their food, but now the entire idea of fast food kind of repulses me. I’m not saying it’s all bad–it just no longer appeals to me.
A burger from Moxie’s, on the other hand, is something I could definitely deal with…

Oh oops, I got sidetracked. The bacon double cheeseburger has to be from Wendy’s. *sigh* I sooo miss Wendy’s. They don’t have them here in Holland… it’s a travesty!

Hey Graham 🙂 Found your site through my friend Kimmy’s blog about her upcoming surgery. I am a Canadian (Cape Bretoner) living in the Netherlands. I think you should add a bacon double cheeseburger with BarQ’s root beer to your list for me 🙂
I’m currently on a diet, which is frustrating the hell out of me. My jaw is aligned quite well but I did have braces as a child so I have no jaw/teeth issues. Bummer, I really think the wired shut thing would have helped kick start this diet again!
Loving your blog, up to Liver and Onion smoothie atm, off I go to finish the rest!

Wow. After a stern talking to like that, I suppose I better give in.
Tim Tams added. *with* instructions!
May 5, 2010 at 5:37 pm
*ahem*
Tim Tam’s?
my eyebrows are raised and hands on my hips for emphases. You can’t tell because i am like a bizillion kilometers away and there is a mad Edmonton blizzard (not the yummy dairy queen kind) in the way blurring your sight.
But it’s all happening right now, to maximize the ‘*ahem* Tim Tam’s’ impact.
get it? got it? GOOD 🙂

Right, right! How could I forget Bulldogs?!
ADDED!
April 19, 2010 at 1:40 pm

April 15, 2010 at 2:51 pm
Of course! How could I have forgotten those!
Khazana gives me the will to be alive. 🙂
April 15, 2010 at 1:55 pm
also the King and I and Khazana.
April 13, 2010 at 8:51 pm
Ah, yes! I totally forgot about Peter’s Drive-in!
I will add that right away!
April 13, 2010 at 7:23 pm
You need to go to Peter’s Drive-in in Calgary! And get a cheeseburger and milkshake when you can suck out of a straw! And you did say you would drive anywhere! 🙂
April 11, 2010 at 8:27 pm
Haha, fries are a given for any sandwich in that list!
But I’ll add them anyway, just because the taste of salt and ketchup or gravy will be freaking awesome!
April 11, 2010 at 6:22 pm
I know you don’t state it explicitly, but add french fries to the list. I tried mashing some up at one point, but it wasn’t the same experience as dipping one at a time into ketchup and eating it.
